Tuning CGCFCE I play it (and discovered it) in BF#BEBD# with a capo at 1. (same tuning as Pink Moon and others) 4x 2x E---------------3------|-------------------| C----4---44-----4--4---|----3---33----33---| F----2---22-----2--2--.|----2---22----22--.| C----0---00----(0)-0--.|----0---00----00--.| G--0---0----00---------|--0---0----00------| C----------------------|-------------------| 2x E----1---11----11----1---11----------|----------------| C----1---11----11----1---11----------|---3---33----33-| F----0---00----00----0---00----------|---3---33----33-| C----------------------------------3-|---3---33----33-| G----3---33----33----3---33--3---0---|-1---1----11----| C--3---3----33-----3---3-------3-----|----------------| That first low Eb is the thing that gives away the fact that this piece is not in standard tuning. The "turn-around" (at the end of segment 3) confirms it. The turn-around also furthers to weirdify the rhythm. That section would always throw me when I played Chris' (whose contribution is not just amazing, but enormous!) tab of this song. The first set of repeats is 2x most of the time, but 4x the first time. One thing to notice about the first repeat (C Major) is that he sustains that first C (xx024x) but when he switches to Cm (xx023xx) the first go at that chord is staccato (in contrast.) The change for "...in summertime" (which returns later for "...it's meant for me") is a variant on that first repeat: E----2---22----22--| C----4---44----44--| F----2---22----22-.| C----0---00----00-.| G--0---0----00-----| C------------------| The end is like so: E----3---33---33--| C----4---44---44--| F----2---54---22-.| C----0---00---00-.| G--0---0----00----| C-----------------| Sometimes those high G's are F#'s (3's become 2's) and sometimes.... they're not heard at all.
